It’s been exactly 10 years since Rihanna released one of her most epic music videos – We Found Love. The timeless banger has now surpassed 1 billion video views on YouTube!

10 years might seem like ages ago but for some Rihanna fans it feels like yesterday. In case you were’s around social media when the single dropped here’s 10 coolest trivia about the song and the video!

  1. The video was shot in September 2021 in the United Kingdom and created quite a stir in the media when Rihanna got literally… kicked out of the video set by a local farmer! Anticipation for the video grew when the news picked up on the story of sixty-one-year-old Northern Ireland farmer Alan Graham withdrawing his permission to film in his barley field in Bangor, County Down after taking issue with Rihanna’s clothing, focusing on her appearing topless and also wearing a red bikini top which he thought was an “inappropriate state of undress”. Rihanna and her film crew departed amiably after Graham advised them to “be acquainted with God and to consider his son, the Lord Jesus Christ, and his death and Resurrection.”
  2. The video begins with a monologue about love and heartbreak by an unseen narrator, fashion model Agyness Deyn. At first, many fans mistook the voice for another model – Cara Delevigne, one of Rihanna’s close friends at that time.
  3. The video won a Grammy Award for ‘Best Short-Form Music Video.
  4. The song was produced by then hardly known DJ – Calvin Harris. He was featured as a support act during Rihanna’s Loud Tour and began working with the singer at that time. “We Found Love” was Harris’s first US number one and was also Rihanna’s longest-running US number one and the longest-running number one of 2011.
  5. The song peaked #1 in 37 countries
  6. Until this day it remains as one of the top party bangers. It’s also one of fans’ favorite songs performed during Rihanna tours.
  7. The song has almost 800 million streams on Spotify even when the platform wasn’t that popular back in 2011.
  8. In the video, Dudley O’Shaughnessy stars as Rihanna’s love interest. Gossip outlets soon picked up a story that the duo are an item in real life and created stories how Dudley is Rihanna’s new guy. The rumors were false. But there was definitely a lot of chemistry between them on set.
  9. This was the first single of Talk That Talk album. The era featured more grunge-ish Rihanna look.
  10. The single is 9x Platinum in United States (which means it got over 9 mln sales in USA alone). it’s her top selling Billboard single.
